The location is great for visiting Bergamo Alta, but the centre of Bergamo Bassa feels a bit far on foot. The access stairs to the building on the second floor are convenient (no lift), and the room and bathroom are spacious and in good condition. The common area is also well supplied with food and drinks. A few more storage units and shelves for luggage would have been nice. Nearby you’ll find bars and restaurants even without going up to the city high. The area is a ZTL and the owners gave me a limited access permit. Parking was different: since we were on a motorcycle we had no issues and could even park under a nearby canopy when it rained. In a car it could be more problematic because free parking is scarce and paid parking, while expensive, is always full. We stayed without ever meeting the owner, who was very kind but only operated online for access. As an older person I’d appreciate meeting people in person. A bit more attention to small maintenance details would help. The room can’t be fully darkened because the shutters don’t close completely.

The location was interesting, and I could have a cup of tea in the shared kitchen in the morning, plus the room was clean. However, the confirmation method was odd – they sent a message asking for ID photos and responded with a laughing emoji, which felt like they were mocking our passports. Still, that was a minor communication hiccup; the stay and departure went smoothly.

The accommodation was super clean and in a good spot, a solid base for heading into the upper town. I loved being able to start my mornings with coffee in the communal kitchen. The downside was the street noise that kept going into the night because of the location, and there were a few missing storage spots, especially in the bathroom.
