The place is picturesque, quiet, and historic, and it was spotlessly clean; the staff were wonderfully friendly and the food amazing, especially the generous breakfast spread. A quick drive gets you to Hallstatt and around the lake. Thanks to everyone at Welterbe‑Wirtshaus Steegwirt. I wish there had been an air‑con or fan in the room and an extra pillow, but otherwise the stay was wonderful.

The sound of the running brook was too loud to sleep, and even though the window was closed it was still uncomfortably warm.

The spot is amazing—direct access to the bath in the Traun. The rooms are a cozy mix of old wood and modern touches, and the food is simply top‑notch. Nothing to complain about.

A unique, beautiful place with a rustic vibe but all the modern comforts. We stayed during a scorching heatwave, so the room felt hot; we cracked the windows to bring in some breeze. Otherwise, nothing to note.
