Raiatea Lodge Hotel, on Ra'iatea's west coast, offers air-conditioned rooms with large lagoon-view terraces. The hotel features a restaurant and bar overlooking the pool, serving Tahitian and international cuisine. Located 5 minutes from Raiatea Airport and 10 minutes from Uturoa town centre, it provides snorkelling equipment, canoes, bicycles, and free Wi-Fi, with a nearby white sand beach on Miri island.

The staff were incredibly kind, always smiling and attentive, which was the hotel’s biggest strength along with its lagoon‑side setting and a coral garden teeming with fish just metres away. Bike and kayak rentals were a nice touch, although we couldn’t take the kayaks because it was too windy 😕. We didn’t use the pool, but the fact that it’s filled with seawater rather than chlorinated water is a clear plus for me. Breakfast was good, featuring homemade yogurts and a pleasant surprise of rooibos tea, plus excellent pastries. The room was spacious and the balcony, with its table and drying rack, was very handy. Thanks also for the flowers on the bed showing our anniversary numbers and the welcoming fruit plate! On the downside, the breakfast lacked quark to pair with the cereals and offered only baguette (and slices of a possibly gluten‑free loaf) as bread, so a broader selection would better match the price. The biggest drawback was the value for money: €780 for two people for two nights on half‑board in a standard room feels steep, especially when dinner is limited to either starter‑main or main‑dessert and drinks aren’t included, making the bill feel overly high. We don’t regret the visit, but if we return it won’t be here, as we found comparable quality elsewhere for a more reasonable price.

A nice, comfortable hotel with a beautiful sunset view and a lovely pool. The only downside is there’s no beach.
