We were close to the water, cafés, and the club, making it a perfect first stop for our trip, and the lego model collection was amazing.

The rooms were large, clean, and had plenty of parking, with easy access to the club and a central location; the bathrooms were nice. The only issue was that staff couldn't fix the fact that a smoker sat outside our room next door, letting smoke drift into our room, and we had forgotten to arrive before reception closed on a public holiday, yet the room was ready with keys for us.

It’s close to the club, but none of the TVs in the rooms worked and the staff lied about why, there was no milk, no towels, dust on the furniture, no wifi, and the carpet was probably 50 years old; the premises looked dirty, which is a definite downgrade from when the club owned it, and it wasn’t worth $225 a night—one could have stayed at the pub with brand‑new rooms that had TV and wifi for $160 a night.

The room and location were great and suited our needs for our annual overnight stay, though the bed was a bit hard and uncomfortable, which is just a personal preference.

The motel was lovely and quiet, next to the club, which offers a 10% discount on drinks and meals.
