“Best way to experience the local vibe!”
The atmosphere was great—staying on this houseboat made me feel like a true local. The location is excellent; you can reach the city center in 20 minutes, and it’s close to NDSM, where you can see street art and local hangout spots. You can get to central Amsterdam via a free ferry (which runs late, so you can easily sightsee into the night) that offers amazing views. Free bicycles are available to borrow, letting you ride into Amsterdam or head to Zaanse Schans (there’s a bike path the whole way with beautiful scenery). The owner is very helpful and easy to communicate with; she even prepared a handy guide to the area. The houseboat is superbly equipped—we had everything we needed—and you can enjoy breakfast on the terrace in the company of ducks. Highly recommended! The ceiling in the bedroom is a little low, but you only sleep there; the room downstairs has a normal height ceiling.
