“Très bel hotel, excellent petit dejeuner, mais un check-out pénible...”
The hotel’s décor, vibe, and style matched exactly what I was after, with a lot of authenticity and a breakfast that was worth it; the night guard who welcomed me (my bus was four hours late, arriving at 2 am) was very kind and helpful. The historic building was renovated with taste, keeping some cool vintage touches. The bathtub was patched up in a shaky way. Check‑out is at 10:00, but the front‑desk staff started knocking on my door at 10:20 (even though they knew I’d been arriving late for reasons beyond my control) to ask me to vacate the room; I was in the shower so it was unpleasant to respond. The receptionist did offer me to stay in the common areas if I needed it (which I didn’t, as I left ten minutes later anyway).
