The location was convenient for getting to the hospital.

Some front desk staff were friendly while others weren’t; I enjoyed the Doubletree cookies. One housekeeping person came a day early and told us our room was on a checkout list, which turned out to be a front‑desk mistake, but she was very helpful and kind. The front desk texted and called me several times asking if I had checked in (I had) and if I was checking out on three separate occasions (I was not). On the second day I had to go to the front desk three times to rekey the lock and left my friend, who has difficulty walking, alone in front of our room. The beds are extremely high and hard to get on and off, and the tub in our room was slippery and dangerous.

The hotel sits in a lively part of Central Westfield End, right next to the Med School campus, and the room was comfortable, though the bathroom and common areas felt a bit old. Checking in took forever, and after we got into the room we had to switch because the shower was broken—after a lot of effort we could turn it on but then couldn’t turn it off. The room was never cleaned during our three‑night stay; we were told rooms were cleaned only upon request, which we never experienced at a hotel of this type. The bathroom was okay but a bit worn. The keys kept de‑activating, so we had to go to reception several times a day to re‑activate them, even to enter the parking garage, which was very inconvenient. There was a cannabis smell in many common areas, and the elevators didn’t require a key to go up to the rooms, even though there seemed to be a system that was deactivated.

The cleaning ladies were nice and helpful. The rooms were bare but clean, the internet was easy to use, the bed was comfortable, and the coffee and coffeemaker were easy to use. The only hotel we’ve ever stayed at that charges $14.95 per person for every breakfast. We travel a lot and stay in nice places, and everyone else includes breakfast. We were there for testing at a connected hospital and had breakfast in their cafeteria for half the price with more choices. They charged a daily fee for parking in the parking garage. The decor was not welcoming when you entered the room; it seemed so bare, plain and cold. The window shades were difficult to open and close.
