“Nice Beach, but the stay could have been much better with improved hospitality, housekeeping, food.”
The beach was nice and the games in the beach lounge were good. We booked the family room for four days, but housekeeping told us that their policy doesn’t include daily linen changes—only towels are replaced. We had to keep insisting until the linens changed once during our stay. Given the premium price for the family room, basic housekeeping standards like this should be expected. The rooms are also quite small and, by design, do not include a TV at the premium price, which made the stay rather boring during hot afternoons when we couldn’t go to the beach and were stuck in the room with nothing to do. Even basic amenities such as a hair dryer required an ID deposit, and when we asked for a spoon they again asked for an ID as security. This level of distrust felt very unwelcoming, as if guests were there to steal basic items. The food at the resort was disappointing and overpriced for the quality offered, and the property really needs better chefs. It’s also hard to find nearby restaurants because most close by 7:30–8:00 PM; on some days we had to drive all the way to San Narciso to find decent food. Thankfully we had a car—otherwise the situation would have been extremely inconvenient. During checkout, after we paid, we asked for an itemized bill. The staff tried to email it to me, but it never arrived. I insisted on a printed copy, and when we reviewed it we discovered we had been charged twice for an ice cream (800 peso). After we pointed out the error, the hotel refunded the 400 peso overcharge. I would strongly recommend requesting an itemized bill and checking the charges carefully before checkout.
