I liked the walls, the high ceilings, the bannisters, windows and floors – everything was nicely restored and functional. The owners were businesslike yet warm and empathetic, and I’m grateful to have found this place. My roommate, however, drank wine and beer all day and night, but he was always cheerful and generous.

The location and price were fine, but the dormitory neighbor was infected (you’re not really there for much, but a 24‑hour reception or small amenities like curtains on the beds to block surrounding light, or at least reduce the noise, would have improved things a bit; I’m usually not picky). The reception was strange – no one spoke French at all.
