Everything was great, especially the spa area and the extra massage we booked – no suggestions for improvement.

Our rooms were roomy, recently refurbished and tastefully decorated, with modern bathrooms that had walk‑in showers; the spa looked fresh too, featuring two saunas, a steam room and a large whirlpool, plus a pleasant indoor pool. Everyone on the team was consistently friendly; housekeeping worked quietly yet left the rooms impeccably clean, and the restaurant staff were constantly checking on us, with the senior manager often on the floor chatting with guests. Breakfast orders were delivered swiftly and reliably, making the service a benchmark for other hotels. The cuisine was the hotel’s real highlight – breakfast with assorted egg dishes and coffee service was very good, but dinner stole the show with a five‑course menu offering multiple options at almost every course, all crafted by a creative chef; over our four‑day stay new culinary surprises appeared daily. The restaurant boasts a massive wine cellar, though you have to pay a premium: a 0.2‑glass of white wine never cost less than €14, and a carafe of water at dinner ran over €7, which felt a bit steep, while beers and soft drinks were cheaper. The hotel also serves Bollinger champagne by the glass, which is delicious. The only drawback, albeit a minor one, was that ashtrays were placed on the balconies of our non‑smoking room, so when we opened the balcony door – especially in summer – occasional smells drifted in.

We were greeted with a warm welcome, and the room felt modern, tastefully decorated, and well-equipped. The hotel’s location, the complete quiet, and the wellness area were especially impressive. We were also treated to great food, though we wished for more local Austrian dishes. The breakfast and afternoon buffets deserve special praise: the variety was excellent and the cakes delicious. The area around Haldensee is unique, offering an authentic sense of well‑being with its stunning nature. The only downside was the bedroom carpet, which seemed a bit outdated and less hygienic, especially with a dog; perhaps this was due to the short‑term room change, so we don’t overrate that issue.

The food at this hotel was really great - breakfast and dinner were both delicious. The wellness area was also lovely and a nice place to unwind. However, my room didn't have a fridge or air conditioning, which was a bit of a bummer.
