I could see potential in this hotel. The rooms were clean, mine even had a great balcony and included a desk and fridge. Yet during my year‑long trip through Asia, this was the place with the worst value for money. Paying 38 $ a night, trekking up the mountain to the outskirts with no taxis available and passing aggressive dogs, you’d expect at least a spotless sheet and maybe a packet of coffee or tea for the kettle. Instead, my sheet (and the only towel) had a half dozen holes, daily room service was almost nonexistent, and there was no proper invoice or offer to arrange a taxi at departure. I usually stay longer after the first night, but not here. It’s clear the issue lies with management, not the cleaners—perhaps a woman on the leadership team would help.

The staff were professional, the place clean, and it offered good value.

Shubham was incredibly helpful and friendly, making you feel right at home, but the hotel signage and directions could use improvement.

The location suited my needs—upper Tapovan with hills to climb, close to great cafés and the waterfall road, plus a lovely stream outside. The room was very clean, creative, airy, bright, and overall nice, though the hotel itself felt small and a bit impersonal. I did notice mold on my pillow.
