“Decent bungalow, but serious security issues (money stolen from room)”
The bungalow itself was very clean and had a very comfortable bed, and the air conditioning was surprisingly quiet and worked perfectly—a big plus in Thailand. The location was acceptable, with a good gym nearby and a beach about 150 meters away, though the beach itself was not very impressive. There were no safes in the bungalows, and a significant amount of cash was stolen from our room. The manager’s initial reaction was defensive, trying to protect the staff and suggesting that I might have misplaced the money elsewhere. After involving the local police and presenting Thai civil law, the manager finally apologized and agreed to a partial refund of 3000 THB in cash before checkout. While the room quality was good and we appreciated the final compromise, the lack of secure storage and the initial handling of the theft make it hard to feel fully safe here. If you stay, keep your valuables with you at all times.
