Be warned: I paid for this place and it doesn’t exist. On the day I was supposed to check in, I arrived and the neighbors said the place had gone out of business for a while; a woman and a man who looked a bit dodgy left, and when I asked the woman for a refund she told me to see how I could get my money back from them. The people who lived there work for Marvic in Richards Bay. I also filed a fraud charge with my bank and they are investigating.

There was nothing to like; the establishment doesn’t exist and must be a scam. I paid, couldn’t reach them by email or phone, and the contact number listed was dead. When I got there it looked derelict and deserted, with no bell or door entrance, just big closed gates.

The hotel was closed, so I ended up sleeping on the streets of Richards Bay. I never got any access because it was not operational.

The place was nice, with safe parking and a comfortable bed and couches. The host was friendly and helpful, and the fridge/freezer was full-size, not a tiny bar fridge. Overall it was a quiet spot to stay. However, the self‑catering claim was misleading since there was only a microwave and kettle; a small stove would have been useful. The unit was tucked down a passage, making it quite dark with limited natural light.
