“Již nikdy více!!!”
The cottage looked nice, tidy and freshly made up, but the hot water never came on even after twenty minutes of turning the heater on. I only needed one night’s sleep, so I didn’t get angry, just disappointed. I was surprised when the landlord told me after arrival that the 695 Kč shown on Booking was wrong and that Booking should have contacted me; I had to pay an extra 1388 Kč to stay. Thankfully everyone stayed calm and no drama erupted, which was the most important thing. One thing is clear: we’ll never come back and will double‑check every reservation, even on the operator’s own website, to avoid this again.
The setting looked nice, but we never actually got to stay there because the owner forced us out. We had booked through a site and upon arrival he told us we had to pay double the original rate, assuming we would just accept it. After a long back‑and‑forth he finally said he didn’t want us there, so we had to find another place. He was arrogant, sneered at us, and we were actually relieved we never checked in. Other guests faced the same issue and some ended up paying. Our reservation was for January, we exchanged several emails with the owner and he never managed to explain the price change or communicate at all. 🤯
“Absolutně nedoporučujeme - jedná se o podvod”
We only liked the surrounding nature of the White Carpathians (the host can’t be blamed for that). We hope a reasonable operator will take over the cottage area, renovate it, and offer accommodation without fraud at a fair price. The host demanded an additional payment (even higher than the original Booking payment) because he allegedly no longer cooperates with Booking. We reported this to Booking, but no response yet. The accommodation was in a dilapidated cottage complex, the furniture was half‑broken, stale, and dusty. In July only 3 of 9 larger cottages were occupied, none of the smaller ones, which says a lot.
“Otřesná zkušenost”
The place is beautiful, but there was a huge problem with the price. When we arrived the owner demanded an extra roughly 5 500 CZK for a four‑night cabin for two adults and two children, even though we had booked the whole stay at the agreed rate. He blamed a mistake on the booking platform and said the price was set incorrectly, yet he had approved the reservation and should have seen the cost. A week before arrival we called and he said we could come but mentioned a “small issue” with the price, giving no details. Two days before we couldn’t reach him at all; he was unable to inform us through the system that we wouldn’t be accommodated. After 2.5 hours of arguing we left. Booking refunded the money, but we lost time, fuel and everything else. To make matters worse, two families who had driven 6.5 hours from Děčín were then asked on the spot to pay an additional 11 500 CZK. I suggested they sit at a computer and write to you, and they just laughed at me.
Nothing at all. The host cancelled our stay only the evening before check‑in. If I hadn’t contacted him for an earlier check‑in, we would have wasted 600 km and found out we had no accommodation. First he said he had a bad price listed on Booking and demanded a surcharge equal to the amount paid through Booking. When we filed a complaint with Booking, the host suddenly refused the pre‑paid stay and cancelled the confirmed reservation because the accommodation was already booked for that date. We had the stay confirmed and paid 7 months in advance and 8 days before arrival. No one informed us of any changes. The host tried to work through Booking, but Booking is only an intermediary and had no info about the wrong price or the inability to accommodate. The host’s prices and terms are set by the provider in Booking. The entire communication was a disaster and felt like an attempt to cheat customers and extract more money because there were no options in the area during the Masters of Rock festival. I would not recommend this provider and regret not reading the Google reviews earlier. The whole thing was bad. Booking’s handling was fine, just a bit slow to reach support.
