“Amazing location but terrible washroom experience.”

The host was very warm and friendly, and the location is excellent—just 10 min from Windmere railway station, 4 min walk from the bus station and City Centre, and the surroundings felt safe. The room was clean and the double bed was good. However, the washroom was very small, making it difficult to move; the shower space was tiny and the toilet flush only worked after pressing it three times, which was frustrating. The room was on the second floor and smelled oddly as soon as we entered. After our first night the room was cleaned, but the cups weren’t washed and the towels weren’t changed.

The surrounding areas are quiet and have convenient transport options. A short walk to the White Rose is just a short distance from Windermere Railway Station. The bus stop sits at the street corner where several routes go to Bowness, Grasmere, Rydal Mount, and Kendal. The only issue was that the hot water ran out while our friends were taking a trembling and shaking shower.

“No hot water for shower.”

The location was good, but most of the time there was no hot water, and when it did come on it lasted only 5‑10 minutes. The sink had hot water, but the shower did not. Even on hot days, a cold shower was difficult to get. Cleaning only changed the bin, no hand soap was provided—just a tiny bar that didn’t wash hands well, so we bought hand wash, shower gel and shampoo from Sainsbury’s nearby. The room samples were insufficient, and the free parking was always full.
