The location was great. The room and shared facilities were excellent. Information on where is acceptable to park and not as it’s just street parking on the road
“A wonderful place to stay, in so many ways. Highly recommended. ( We almost wanted to stay in!)”
This place is truly exceptional. We were greeted by a lively host who led us into a house full of attractive furnishings, from art prints to chairs and rugs. The décor shows meticulous detail that delights the eye without compromising comfort. Breakfast was outstanding, offering freshly cooked dishes of restaurant quality and a variety of homemade preserves. The location is superb, within walking distance of the town centre yet free from the bustle, with a view over the Lakeland hills. The only downside was that we expected an en‑suite bathroom/shower, but it turned out to be shared.
“Lovely helpful host and a great room”
A comfy room, great breakfast, and a lovely host made for a pleasant stay; the little fridge with fresh milk was a nice touch. I didn’t realize the bathroom was shared with another room when booking, but luckily no one else was staying, so it was just ours. The room sits on the top of two flights of stairs, the second of which is steep and curved. My host carried my bag, which helped a lot.
“Would love to stay there again”
The house was beautiful and had a great vibe thanks to our lovely host; it was clean and had many thoughtful touches, plus a lovely breakfast. The only drawback was that we didn’t stay long enough.

A warm welcome, a beautiful house, every detail considered, a comfortable bed, a wonderful breakfast (award‑winning marmalade :-)), bikes in the garage, everything perfect! No negatives, in fact.
