The hosts were excellent and the location is perfect for exploring Coniston and its surroundings; the place is quiet and homely with attentive hosts. The setting is beautiful, pubs are nearby for dinner, and we were greeted with tea, coffee, and homemade cakes upon arrival. The plumbing was a bit unreliable at first because of a boiler issue that affected the heating, but it was fixed quickly; it’s unfair to list that as a criticism since repairs were handled promptly.

I was blown away by this guest house—one of the best I've ever stayed at. The hosts greeted us with warm smiles and a delicious cake and tea, a real treat after a long day of hiking. The room was beautifully decorated, cozy, and clearly cared for. The hosts left a lasting impression, and whenever I think of the Lake District, I’ll remember this place and its wonderful people. I’d gladly stay here again, and I can’t find any negatives.

Anne’s cakes were tasty and the thoughtful touch of leaving a small decanter of sherry for guests was appreciated—there was nothing to dislike.
