The calm, comfort, and view were great, and the men opposite and the violet sea added to the charm.

We had told the owners our arrival time, yet no one was waiting for us and we received no check‑in instructions. The owner was unreachable. Finally, a woman (who never introduced herself) handed us all the keys without handing over the property. We waited alone in the kitchen because we didn’t even know which room was ours. The phone number couldn’t be reached. We waited, but we eventually took the first room. Trying the keys showed that the same key opened every other room. There was no guarantee of our safety or our belongings, so we kept all the keys. The next morning around 10 am we only spoke with the cleaning lady, who had no information. In the afternoon we received a threatening message from an unknown number demanding we return the keys immediately. We said we would come back around 7 pm once security was guaranteed (e.g., installing unique locks). Instead we got another threat. When I mentioned that we would call the police if anything disappeared from our room, the tone changed—clearly the owner had something to hide. No one collected the tourist tax (tassa di soggiorno), raising doubts about the legality of the operation. That evening, after we returned and packed our towels, shower gel, and underwear into the bathroom, two unknown men entered the apartment with their own key—while we still held all official keys! One of them went straight into our bathroom, showering and using our personal items without restriction. If we weren’t there, who would have ensured they didn’t enter our room? Initially there was no hot water. Only after the threatening exchanges did we learn where to turn on the boiler. There was no air conditioning or Wi‑Fi, and breakfast consisted of a few dry, pre‑packed pastries.

Everything was awful, I should request a refund. Everything was bad.

The view was good, but the address on Maps led us to a construction site. The host made us ring the intercoms of the whole building to open the entrance door. The bathroom didn’t drain, and the shower didn’t work.
