The place was a fantastic, charming spot with a huge garden full of trees, flowers, seating, a pool, terraces, and birds—really a fairy tale. The owner and staff were amazing, very interested and helpful, offering great tips on restaurants, routes, and the Quinta Casa Amarela wine/port house just a few minutes’ walk from the hotel, which was definitely recommended. We really enjoyed it! The room was beautifully decorated and authentic, which was very nice and exceeded every expectation. A kettle and a bottle of good water were provided daily, and we could ask for more if we wanted. They went out of their way to help us find places to go and what we followed turned out to be very well planned. The beds were a bit hard and it was a struggle to find a good pillow, but that’s a very personal issue.
