The hostel was clean and comfortable with a lovely rooftop, and it felt safe and secure, especially for a solo female traveler. The owner helped me when I had trouble locating the hostel and a staff member met me. The price was good value. However, it was a bit hard to find and the location, while not far from the main areas and beaches, required a 15‑minute walk up hills on unpaved streets. There were no streetlights, making it a bit difficult to navigate in the dark (but I never felt unsafe). There wasn’t much of a social vibe, but that obviously depends on other guests, the activities offered, or information about the area.

The vibe that developed, the breakfast, and the owners were great.

The room was very large and nicely furnished, clean, and we even had our own bathroom. There was a terrace and a roof terrace. The staff at Arima Surfhouse could not be better/cooler. We had a wonderful time. Joan and Salah were so kind, invited us to visit the market with them, have a beach bonfire, or watch a movie at the hostel. They gave us recommendations and tips for the area. Such warm people! Every day there was fruit salad, omelette, bread, crêpes or pancakes for breakfast (with Nutella or Sergio ;)). Moroccan tea and coffee were also available. From the terrace you could watch the sunset. There were yoga mats available. The kitchen was clean and could always be used. The only downside was the location a bit far from the beach, but that was our mistake. We could have seen that when booking the hostel ourselves. The team also made the location better. We felt comfortable.
