The hosts were amazing! Picking up and dropping off at Kyoto station was a breeze. The walk from the guest house to the main road with buses and trains is lovely. It sits in a quiet, tree‑lined area with mountains nearby and hardly any tourists. Kyoto, the Gion district, and Fushimi Inari shrine are all a 10‑minute walk or bus ride away, and there are shrines, temples, grocery stores, and convenience stores within walking distance. Breakfast was delicious each morning, and chatting with the hosts over coffee was a highlight. I’d recommend it 100% to anyone who enjoys walking and exploring. Thank you for the wonderful, warm, and perfect stay ❤️

The place is atmospheric and quiet in the suburbs, ideal for those who like a leisurely walk from the metro station. The hosts are very pleasant. I suggest booking a classic‑style room with futons. The terrace offers a nice view. Transfer from the station and back at check‑in was very convenient.

It was exactly what we were looking for: away from the tourist bustle, some quiet, and a personal stay. It’s in a residential area in eastern Kyoto, about a 10‑minute walk from the bus stop. The hosts were very friendly and picked us up from the station and dropped us back. Breakfast sparked many interesting conversations. The hostess is an artist and has a small gallery in the house with her beautiful paintings. If we return to Kyoto, we’d book this place again. The breakfast could have been more varied, but overall it was fine. It does have some stairs to climb. Good to know.

The guesthouse sits on the edge of Kyoto, in a beautiful suburban garden area. We stayed right by the mountains and next to the forests. Birds chirped every morning, making it a very relaxing, peaceful place. Yet it’s close to everything; the nearest bus stop is just a 10‑minute walk. The room was a large Japanese‑style space with comfortable beds and a very nice design—everything was super clean and neat. The toilet and bathroom are outside, accessed from the balcony, but that wasn’t an issue because we had nice summer weather. Keiko‑san and her husband were very kind, giving us a ride from the station when we arrived and even dropping us back on the day we left, free of charge. They always looked out for us and served delicious breakfast. We enjoyed chatting with Keiko‑san in the mornings and listening to the classical music she loves so much. ☺️ We thank Guesthouse Hennka for everything; our stay was super comfortable and authentic—a wonderful experience! Arigatou gozaimasu! 😊
