I’m in the city centre and can walk to the shops from the hotel, which sits in a historic building that really adds to the charm. The pub meals were classic and the atmosphere was cheerful.

The food was outstanding, both dinner and breakfast, with every dish, even for vegetarians, topping expectations. The pub felt like a real old‑school spot, adding to its character, and the location was handy near Mam Tor. The room, however, was right next to the road and noisy, and the flush didn’t work properly, but that’s a minor issue.

I would have liked some fruit with the breakfast, but the cooked options were excellent; another option would have helped. Nothing else to note.

We had a lovely stay at this charming traditional inn! The staff were friendly and welcoming, the room was clean and comfortable, and the food was excellent. Breakfast was particularly good, and the location was perfect for exploring the Peak District. A really cosy place with plenty of character. We would happily stay here again!
