The hosts were very gracious, and my room was spotless, tastefully decorated, and very comfortable.

The second room they assigned me to was okay, but the receptionist was not onsite at 8 pm and was a 10‑minute drive away, which was odd since people were checking in. The first room had a strong cigarette smell and whatever they used to mask it; I sat at the desk hoping it would fade or get annoying, then talked to reception. She had already left, so I had to wait with another customer. I asked for a refund because the reception service and the bad smell left a bad taste in my mouth, but she refused, saying I had been in the room for maybe 20 minutes and hadn't touched anything, so no refund could be offered, only a room change. I took that option to avoid losing money; the new room didn't smell, but the road noise was quite a lot, and the original room also had a very loud fridge.

The owners told me they’d only owned the motel for a month, and they were very friendly and welcoming, even their kids! They seemed eager to make us comfortable. The room was clean, no carpet, just a clean floor, and we couldn’t hear the neighbors, only a bit from upstairs. We mistakenly thought there was breakfast, but there wasn’t, so that’s on us. I’d definitely stay again and wish the new owners all the best in Quesnel! Thanks for the hospitality! 💕 The AC fan squeaked, and the door knob was so close to the jamb that my husband and I both got abrasions—nothing serious, just something to note. Also, the bathroom door doesn’t close enough to lock.
