The location is strategic, the warm shower water runs smoothly, and the staff are friendly. You can make your own coffee and tea, and hot water is always available in the pantry outside. The negatives: no toothbrushes or toothpaste, some parts of the room and desk are dusty (please check again), and there were mosquitoes in the room.

Nothing. I’ll explain how it went: terrible. After checking in at reception using Google Translator because the staff barely spoke English, we entered our room and saw two salamanders roaming around. I told the receptionist we wanted another room, but he said it was full. It was late at night, and finding another hotel in Yogyakarta would have been a mess, so we asked him to remove the salamanders. He managed to take one out, but the other hid and we couldn’t find it, so we slept in a room with a salamander inside. That’s not all—the room was filthy, and the towels, bedsheets, and blanket were stained and very old. The hotel was clearly in need of renovation after more than ten years, and the price was not even in the cheap range for Yogyakarta. We booked two nights but only stayed one because it was probably one of the worst hotels we’ve ever been to.

The staff were friendly, the location is strategic, and the open hall in the hotel compound is a nice hang‑out spot. The negatives: the hotel toilet is very dirty and a bit sticky, the room isn’t very comfortable, and the air‑con in the room didn’t work properly.
