The hotel was spotless and tidy, and the breakfast room was absolutely gorgeous.

The food is very good, the staff are friendly, and the area is quiet. At night, a loud, larger group caused a disturbance.

The guesthouse sits a bit off the beaten path, right on the forest edge, giving a quiet and pleasant vibe. It’s not a hotel but a Catholic educational facility mainly used by groups, so it can get pretty busy at times. The staff were very friendly and helpful during my three‑day stay. Rooms were clean and functional, though a bit sparsely furnished. I was surprised that no housekeeping came during my stay and towels weren’t changed; I probably should have mentioned it, as I had assumed cleaning would happen the next day. I wouldn’t recommend it for a long holiday, but for a short break—say for hiking or cycling around the beautiful Emsland—it works fine. Overall the place is inexpensive and tidy, breakfast is adequate and good. If you’re not looking for a hotel feel or extra comfort but just a simple, quiet, and well‑maintained spot for a few days, this works.

The garden is fantastic, the house is bright and modern, and the chapel is a nice spot. As a guest I was assigned a room at the end of the corridor where a group was staying, some of whom had already left just after 6 am. Doors were constantly opening and closing and there were loud conversations. The whole house is very sound‑prone, so I could hear the radio from the neighboring room.
