“Uselt boende i näst intill ett ruckel.”
Not much to say. The double bed was clean and fresh but very wobbly; I woke up as soon as my husband moved. We cannot recommend this place. Almost a disaster! Broken windows, the shared bathroom couldn’t be locked, old wallpaper with stickers, the kitchen ceiling light flickered, and the kitchen was very old. The ceiling light in our room was just a bulb, the bedside table was missing, and the wardrobe was inaccessible. How four people could fit into that room is incomprehensible. We didn’t even dare step onto the balcony. Most of the house was crooked and uneven. When I closed the door to our room, the handle was in my hand and the outside had no handle at all, which is a fire hazard because our upstairs room was the only one with a balcony. The house does not meet hostel fire safety standards! There was also a huge crack in the toilet basin downstairs, gutters that were about to fall off, and mortar visible around the door frames. And that’s just a sample. An overcharge! With proper fire protection we could have imagined around 400, not close to 1200! For just an extra 300 in Mora we got sheets, breakfast, a pool, a well‑maintained and tidy room.
“Det behövs lite mer renovering innan man kan hyra ut som det gjordes den natt vi bodde där.”
Two of the four beds in our room were fine, but that was the only good thing. Some bedrooms lacked doors. One of the toilets couldn’t be locked. The kitchen was in very bad condition, old and worn out, and there was no microwave. The kitchen light was a bit creepy and felt unsafe. Only one of the four kitchen light switches worked. The floor between the kitchen and living room was damaged and covered with a rug. There were holes in the floor and the boards wobbled when walking there. We had a room with two bunk beds and slightly wider underbeds, but according to the information we were supposed to take an extra bed from another room. It didn’t fit into ours. There was also no fifth blanket or pillow, so I had to roam the other rooms to borrow. The largest room had a lot of beds and mattresses that were a bit haphazardly arranged and it looked really bad. Parking for all guests’ cars outside the building wasn’t possible, so we had to park a bit farther at Granntomen. “Vasaloppsgården” can’t be found on Google Maps, it’s just a name to lure desperate customers like us. It was cold in the kitchen and living room.
“Att välja om man absolut inte kan hitta något annat.”
There is a basement room where you can store skis. The house is an unfinished construction project. The two rooms on the lower floor have no doors! The room I booked was supposed to have a balcony, i.e., be on an upper floor. It was actually on the ground floor, had no door, and looked like a storage area with old beds and mattresses. I had sent questions to the host before we arrived on 28/2. We received answers on 5/3, three days after we had already left. I called the host on 28/2, but he couldn’t help because the other rooms were full. A picture of the house from the road would have made it easier to find. It was difficult to get the heating to work in the room even though we turned it on several times.
