“Amazing rainforest experience, made even better by our guide Carlos”
I was very happy with the accommodation overall. The transport from Iquitos airport to the resort and back was well organised, and communication with the staff who drove us was easy. The reception area was great, especially considering that we were in the middle of the rainforest. There was Wi-Fi and electricity available for charging our phones, which was very useful. The staff mainly spoke Spanish, which was sometimes a bit challenging, but since there was Wi-Fi, we could easily communicate using a translator. Our guide Carlos was absolutely amazing. He spoke English very well and, being a local, shared many interesting stories and things from his own experience. He made the whole experience much more personal and enjoyable. We had three meals a day, usually with a main course, often a dessert and a local fruit drink. Everything was local and traditional, which we really enjoyed. The cabins were quite well equipped considering that we were staying in the rainforest. Of course, there were all kinds of insects around, but the beds had mosquito nets, mosquito-repellent candles were available, and the veranda had a hammock, which was perfect for relaxing. The area around the resort was also well maintained. We had around 2–4 excursions every day, so there was a great balance between exploring the rainforest and having some time to relax. Overall, it was a truly amazing experience, especially because of Carlos. He guided us for four days through all kinds of places and activities and made the whole trip very memorable. The main difficulty was that most of the staff spoke mainly Spanish, so communication was sometimes a little challenging. However, with Wi-Fi available, we were able to use a translator, so it was not a major problem
