The location is great and I've stayed here before; the breakfast is excellent. Unfortunately, they only serve bar food until 16.30, and the evening meal is a three‑course dinner that’s too much for us. We had to walk back into town to find something for dinner.

The staff were helpful and friendly, the rooms were clean, and the bed was comfortable – thanks for a lovely stay. The property feels a little dated, and the dining hall looks like a boarding‑school hut, though the bar area is a nice place to eat.

The location was perfect for what we wanted, and breakfast was good. Noise from the hall leaks into the room with people coming in and out, but for the price of the room that’s just a fact, not a plus or minus. There was a lot of black mould in the shower and a damp smell from it. Cobwebs were everywhere around the windows and room, and the carpet near the walls was dirty and dusty. I don’t expect five‑star standards at this price, but I do expect a certain level of cleanliness.
