The location was hassle‑free, check‑in was smooth, and there were many women on the staff. The food menu had limited items listed, and even from those only 25 % were actually available. Breakfast was extremely poor with just one item. The highest‑priced rooms were only about okay, which is very normal for the price they charge.

The place is absolutely stunning, and everything you could wish for in a remote spot is there. We had originally booked another hotel that turned out to be terrible, so we were in a tight spot with a toddler, but the staff at Hermitage graciously accepted our last‑minute request and answered our call at 6 am—truly unforgettable. We chose the forest‑facing rooms and the tranquility is beyond words. The owner exudes a Rishi Kapoor vibe, always smiling with a steaming cup of tea in hand. Thanks for making our first trip to Kanatal unforgettable! The food is fantastic, though we did miss the tandoori snacks, which left our drinks feeling incomplete.

I appreciated the genuine warmth from the staff and especially from owner Mr Bhatia, who went out of his way to look after my parents. I would have liked a bar, though.
