“Mooi huis met prima ontbijt!”
Every morning between 08:30 – 09:00 there was a breakfast that alternated between scrambled eggs, bacon, pancakes, fruit and of course coffee. That was fine. The house itself is beautiful! The location is a bit far from all the popular spots and it is advisable to use Uber, especially in the evening because it is definitely not safe. We found that we were not greeted warmly, which we had seen in earlier reviews (which was the reason I booked The Happy Place). It felt rushed and, for example, they asked for our names but the hosts never introduced themselves. During breakfast we rarely received a “good morning” and only at the end of our stay was there more conversation. Otherwise there was hardly any communication and we didn’t feel truly welcome. For instance, they didn’t ask after the first night how we had been. On our last day of stay, under the table behind the bed, there was dried vomit, which can happen, but it shows that they didn’t properly check if the room was ready for guests. In short, we were quite disappointed, especially compared to the more cozy B&Bs we had experienced.
