The staff were welcoming and hospitable, but we kept getting bothered by flies.

A true paradise on earth! ❤️❤️❤️❤️ After staying at a hotel with no electricity, no fans and no light, arriving at Papaye was pure bliss. It felt like luxury for backpackers, offering a chance to relax, swim and unwind in a high‑end setting. You can even take a trip to Sim Saloun, which adds to the calm and sweetness of the spot. The décor is gorgeous, the bungalows have AC, mosquito nets, shower supplies and towels. Everything is clean and tastefully arranged, with several outdoor spots overlooking the river. The food was very good. The hotel was empty at that time, making it perfect; I imagine it gets less tranquil in peak season. The price they charged for the river crossing seemed a bit high, since taking the communal canoe was practically free.

The place and its context are magnificent! However, the hidden fees are a problem: the pirogue transport costs 30 000, meals are pricey, and excursions are expensive.

The staff were very kind and pleasant, and the carriage ride to Niodor was enjoyable—feel free to ask lots of questions for more info. The food was good and the overall setting was nice for a break, especially with a great spot to watch dolphins. However, you have to take a canoe to reach the hotel and the extra fee isn’t mentioned before booking, which can change the budget (about €50 round‑trip per person or per couple). The rooms get very hot and can’t be aired out at night because there’s no mosquito net on the doors.

The place is a splendid paradise. Calm, serenity, view, and the staff’s kindness make the service top.
