The place was perfect and the bar and restaurant were very nice, though the weather wasn’t ideal for the holiday.
We liked the spotless room and the host’s friendliness, but the reasons we chose this place – the private beach, the pub and the restaurant – fell short: the beach wasn’t reachable, the pub and restaurant were only open for two hours on the first day and were closed on the second, and the shower and mattress could use some attention.
The pub’s food was excellent, and the staff were friendly and welcoming. My room was clean and spacious. However, the surrounding grounds could use more care and cleanup; the mowed area and pub entrance were fine, but the side entrance to our room was overrun with weeds. With a bit of TLC on the gardens and planters, the place could be far more charming.
