We were never checked in at all! We were charged, still waiting for a refund, and the reservation was cancelled at the last moment. No one answered the phone, email, or chat. The address listed on Booking is incomplete, and such a place simply doesn’t exist!
I had told the host the time of my arrival and tried to contact them the day before and on the day, but received no reply. When I arrived in London, I got an email saying I had to cancel the booking because something had broken, so I had to find another apartment at a higher price in a completely different area.
They asked me to cancel my reservation in the morning of my arrival with the excuse they have issues with their facilities. I wonder whether this is a common thing they do, definitely worth looking into it. Got my money back. “North Kensington Home.”
The location was good, and there was a washing machine but no dryer. I didn’t like the last‑minute change; I was on my way to the accommodation and had to go to another address instead, which meant losing money and a bad situation. I came from Brazil to London, so a last‑minute switch wasn’t easy.
“Disappointing & inconvenient”
The building itself is nice. But the location and check‑in/out are misleading: it’s a 10‑minute walk north of Latimer Road station, more White City than Notting Hill. The listing’s location was completely wrong. At check‑in you must go to Wood Lane or White Station because the key must be collected from a shop, wasting time heading to Latimer Road. At check‑out you must return the key to the shop; I was checking out on a Sunday and the shop didn’t open until 9:00, so I was lucky I didn’t have an early departure. The property itself is cute, the bathroom is great, and the street is quiet. Don’t be fooled: there’s no kitchenette, it’s not a studio but an en‑suite double; the kitchen is shared. The TV is tiny, the bed is old, rickety, and uncomfortable, and the pillows are wafer thin. The bed sheets were stained, old, and tatty, and they smelled like someone had slept in them—shocking. Communication was dire. This is another hugely disappointing, almost scamming property in London. TLDR: Key collection and drop‑off are rubbish and inconvenient; the host is virtually unreachable if there’s any issue; old tired bedding and bed; misleading property type and location.
