“Horrible staff. Courtyard smells like weed 24/7. Residents hanging out in their undergarments.”
The place sits within 20 minutes of the Fairgrounds, which is convenient. I went to reception on Friday morning to ask for an iron, but none were available and they directed me to a nearby store. When I asked about an ice machine, they said there wasn’t one and that I could bring a cup back up to reception for a refill. The receptionist called my cell 15 minutes later to ask how many dogs I had in the room. I told him I had two for the night, but they weren’t actually in the room. He claimed my dogs were barking, and security said they were barking in my car. I explained that was impossible because I had slept in my car; the man next to us sleeps with a CPAP machine and I could hear it through the wall, so I grabbed a pillow and went to my car. I told him if he didn’t believe me he could check the security cameras. He mentioned several complaints from residents, so I asked who, and I’d only spoken to the man traveling on a motorcycle. I also had to avoid a drunk couple getting into their truck. After the call, my roommate and I went to reception to view the security footage, and the evening receptionist had come to the room and played with my two puppies, proving I had two. While we were talking, the receptionist’s dog behind the counter barked at us. He said he didn’t like my attitude and that I would need to leave by 10 am, and he was cancelling my final night.
