What a great spot—good accommodation if you’re looking for something a bit cheaper. Watch out for the sandflies and bring some repellent. The view and the quietness were a bit lacking.

The double room was neatly painted and acceptable. The shared showers (for men and women) with toilets were in poor, old, and unattractive condition. The space had only a shower curtain and a toilet, and the small sink was meant for after the toilet and for brushing teeth. There were no shelves. An old, dried soap bar was left there. The furnishings in the double room (two dressers) were not functional for travelers, the bedding was very thin and flimsy, and it felt uncomfortable. The bed was unsuitable for two people, wobbling with every movement. The room was very noisy. We chose not to shower and left early.

Berlin’s has a new owner eager to keep this vital facility open. It’s the only spot for miles on this stretch of road, so it’s especially handy for cyclists. We stayed there the night before heading out on the Old Ghost Road. It was warm, comfortable, had a kitchen and lounge, and a place to park our bikes under cover. We ate at the restaurant, which had a fire going (though note it isn’t open every night), and the new owner Donna(?) was friendly and helpful. She even agreed to make us filled rolls for lunch the next day, and they were AWESOME! The bathroom facilities were spacious and clean, and our room was warm and comfortable.

A super cute and cozy spot! Plenty of parking, and I had the entire dorm to myself, sharing the facilities with only one other person. Loved the kitchen! The bunk beds were a little short, so if you’re tall you might find it hard to sit up on the bottom bunk.

A roadhouse in the middle of nowhere with a beautiful surrounding landscape. The room was comfortable, the hostel had a nice kitchen, and the attached bar was quite atmospheric.
