The spot and room were solid, but the hair‑dryer hose couldn't be fixed.
“Both good and disappointing”
The view of the lake from the centre of town was great, yet the main road’s traffic made it noisy and a bit smoky. The same issue applies.
The location and the staff’s friendliness were nice.
The room service was disappointing; twice they forgot to provide toilet paper.
“You couldn’t pay me to return”
The location was fantastic, couldn’t be better. However, due to its central location, it is pretty lively and noisy of an evening. For our family, this wasn’t an issue as our children went to sleep very well but this could be an issue for other families. Where do I start?! I walked in and was welcomed by an unwelcoming man on Reception who clearly didn’t want to be there. Me and my two young daughters went to our room with lots of bags (due to road tripping so no suitcases) whilst hubby went to the other hotel to park the car. We had too many bags to carry, tried to take the lift but it wouldn’t work (I didn’t realise at the time that you had to hold the button down rather than just press it once) I called over to the receptionist and asked if the lift was working and he just shrugged his shoulders, didn’t even attempt to get up to check it himself. We were on the 3rd floor and couldn’t carry all of the bags so I left a couple in Reception while I ran up the stairs, dropped some off then ran back. I then noticed there was a luggage cart in Reception but we weren’t offered to use this. Next up, the children were playing on the hotel room floor while I organised our bags a bit to discover multiple crawling ants. They joked they were killing them, I didn’t think anything of it, until I noticed several too and they were on my bed. I proceeded to take a shower and flooded the bathroom floor because the shower doors didn’t stop the water from exiting the shower. There was a big gap at the bottom of the doors. I went down to Reception and told the unfriendly man of our problems and concerns. His reply was another shrug. He asked if the ants were in the wardrobe, they were not but this leads me to believe they knew there was an ant issue. Regarding the shower, he told me they’re all like it and there aren’t any rooms with baths and they can only give me extra towels to soak up the water. Dissatisfied, we had no choice but to accept the extra towels. He also informed me housekeeping would clear the ants in the morning. Next morning, after a pretty limited breakfast, my youngest took some strawberries and a muffin back to the room so she could finish eating while we got ready for the day
