Convenient spot and the parking was fine. The staff were welcoming and the bed was comfortable. The continental breakfast, however, was terrible—mouldy fruit, and the rooms could use an upgrade.

The staff were very friendly and helpful. The apartment was spacious and cozy, and the food and beer were excellent. Breakfast, though, could have been much better.

The property was convenient for the town. We appreciated the apartment’s spaciousness and the flexibility of having breakfast in the room whenever we wanted. Unfortunately, the room wasn’t ready upon arrival, there were no lightbulbs in the corridors leading to the apartment (a health hazard), the wallpaper was peeling, coffee was scarce and there was no tea on the first morning, and the whole place smelled like rancid fat. The staff seemed a bit confused—when we left we couldn’t settle the outstanding bill and the iron promised in the description never arrived. The place clearly needs renovation and better management.

Clare, who runs The George, welcomed us and made us feel right at home. Everything was handled with ease. Our room was a double bedroom with a lounge, which was a fantastic bonus. It was very clean and I’d definitely recommend it. The town is just a lovely 10‑minute walk away.

There’s plenty of space, but there was no iron or ironing board.
