The room was clean and in good shape, with a fan and AC that kept it fairly cool so we mostly used the fan. The bathroom was tidy and well maintained, and free filtered water was available at reception. The spot is great, right on a walk from the main town. However, the room is very small for two people, offering almost no space for luggage, which makes it feel cluttered quickly. The bed was hard and the pillows uncomfortable. There was no hand soap in the bathroom. The receptionist seemed unhelpful; when we tried to pay, she told us twice to come back later without explanation. When we finally paid, she had no change and promised to call us when she got it, but never did. At checkout she still didn’t have change. According to her original receipt we had paid the correct amount, but she added 1 000 Kip at checkout, making it look like we were short. It felt odd and made us feel like a nuisance for not having exact change, even though she knew we were paying cash from the start. The hotel advertises an airport transfer, but the driver never arrived. He later texted that evening saying he had “forgotten he was picking us up.” The curtains let in a lot of light in the morning, which is worth noting for anyone sensitive to light while sleeping.
