It’s right by the beach, but the resort is unfinished with little to do; a new complex that’s still being built shows signs of wear and neglect, so I’m unsure about the quality of the work and how well it will hold up over time.
The hotel is fantastic—fresh, with a shared pool and free bicycles available. On the first floor there’s a communal kitchen. The place is cozy, small, and has an elevator. Every room is fully equipped with water, toiletries, and everything is replenished daily. The cleaning is daily, the mattress and pillows are comfortable, and the modern TV with apps feels like home; we even watched a couple of movies before bed. Breakfast is across the street from 7 to 11, very good, not a huge selection but everything we needed was there, and the croissants were simply amazing (warm). The beach is nearby; there are shops around; an evening mini‑market where you can eat; restaurants. Everything around is clean, quiet, and cozy. A great hotel and the surrounding area is excellent—highly recommended!
A very nice, quiet spot with friendly and helpful staff, new and clean rooms, bikes, a pool, and the beach just a stone's throw away – highly recommend.
We arrived on Phu Quoc, spent three nights at another island hotel and then planned to move into Sunset Marina Hotel for the remaining half‑week of our short trip, picking it based on reviews and photos. The drive there changed from the greener, touristy scenery we’d seen earlier to a more unfinished, almost abandoned look with several half‑built hotels, giving the impression that the surrounding area is still under development. Near the property we spotted a free bike parking area, and at the reception a smiling manager greeted us, explained the terms, pointed out the pool – which he said is shared with all the nearby operating hotels (most of which are still under construction and barely occupied) – and escorted us to our room, which turned out to be cozy and quite charming. Later my husband tried to take a shower but the water wouldn’t drain; I rushed back to the desk, where a woman promptly cleared the blockage and got the drain working. We then tried to relax, but a neighboring hotel’s construction kept going with a nonstop drill, which irritated my husband; the staff shut it down briefly, but the noise lingered and we felt a bit let down by the surroundings. At that point the manager opened the door and, acknowledging our frustration, offered us to leave without any charge, even waiving the fee for the hours we’d already spent in the room. We were grateful, got a few hours to find another place, and checked out without any dispute. We’d like to thank the manager and the hotel’s management for handling the situation so considerately and allowing us to depart without any claims.
Everything was great: a comfortable room with daily cleaning, tasty breakfasts at the café opposite, free bicycles for walks, the sea just 100 m away, a large pool 15 m from the hotel, and the complex offers everything a tourist needs—from shops to a night market. There’s also a bus 19 that runs from the complex to the airport, a 20‑minute ride. Everything was liked!
