The hotel is charming and matches the photos shown on the booking site. It’s ideally located for walking around Beaune. The parking is large and quite convenient. The cleaning leaves much to be desired (dust on the floor, spider webs on the ceiling). The parking fee is a bit high considering the room rates. The bathroom is inconvenient (accessed by stairs in a rather narrow room), especially for older people. Finally, a strong sewer smell was reported in a room twice to two different people, but nothing was addressed during our stay.

The hotel’s location was perfect for our errands—visiting wineries, eating well, and exploring Burgundy for the first time—yet the staff could smile a bit more and parking at the hotel should be paid for.

It’s a very lovely, lovingly maintained hotel with a design that feels authentic to Beaune; the staff is very friendly and it’s a cozy place to stay for a city trip, so we’ll return on our next visit. The only downside is that everything else pleased me, but the amenities (e.g., hair dryer and air conditioning) are quite old, though still functional.
