Everything and the staff were lovely, thanks to them. The only issue was the thunderstorms between 16 and 17 h.

The Pickled Onion Hotel & Restaurant Uxmal, a 2‑minute walk from Santa Elena, offers thatched Mayan‑style bungalows amid tropical gardens, each with wooden furnishings, tiled floors, a fan, and a small dining area. Air‑conditioned rooms, an outdoor pool, and a restaurant serving Mexican cuisine create a tranquil retreat near Uxmal, Kabah, and Ruta Puuc.

The welcome was very pleasant, the accommodation was unique and very comfortable, the pool was excellent, the restaurant was very good, and it’s close to Uxmal – we’ll definitely return. It was a bit noisy because of the party the hotel neighbors were having, but the earplugs provided were perfect. Thank you again for this great time.

The traditional cabin had air conditioning and ventilation fans surrounded by a beautiful garden with local plants. The room and bathroom were very large and clean. Because the property is inside a park, geckos may appear in the room – that’s part of the experience. Unfortunately, due to the weather we couldn’t use the pool. The restaurant was very good, even for breakfast, and it’s only a 10‑minute drive from the ruins of Uxmal. Highly recommended for a trip to the ruins.

The pool was great, and the restaurant deserves a shout‑out for the cheesecake and banana cake at breakfast. The water pressure in the rooms was low.
