“it was fine for one night”
I stayed in a room above a pub, which was a nice perk, but the staff seemed highly stressed and overworked, and I still hadn't received an invoice for VAT.

The hostess and the chef were fantastic, the Sunday roast was delicious, and the room was beautiful.

The building’s authenticity and age were impressive, the staff were very pleasant and polite, and the food was excellent, using local ingredients. However, it’s not ideal for people with lower limb disabilities, and most dishes contain onions; although they do follow policy and offer options for all sensitivities or allergies.

The location suited us as it was outside the town of Bampton but on the A396 roundabout for easy access. Nice old farmhouse converted into pub/restaurant. I thought the food was very well prepared but the menu was a little truncated. Our room was big enough given the cost, and the bed was excellently comfortable. There was no housekeeping as such, but we quite liked not being disturbed and the very nice staff members were always happy to re-supply (good quality) tea and coffee sachets. Quite a noisy water pump system in the room for making sure the waste water left the building presumably! The TV had a good quality screen but Freeview only
