“Great value, friendly owners, and perfectly practical for skiing”
Arriving with expectations of luxury, you might be let down, but if you want clean, warm, practical lodging at a very reasonable price, this place delivers exactly that. My room was simple yet very comfortable—spotless, warm, with a good shower and plenty of hot water. A decent‑sized fridge was handy for a few essentials. The spot works well for skiing: it’s on the main bus route and just one stop up to the main resort area, making travel easy. There’s a bar attached, so it can get lively during peak season, and the towels are small (typical in Japan), but you can request extras. What really sets this place apart is the owners’ kindness; they were extremely helpful and accommodating throughout my stay and even arranged for my luggage to be sent on after I left, which I greatly appreciated. And the burgers in the bar are excellent—definitely worth trying after a day on the slopes. Overall, a very solid and welcoming base for skiing in Appi. The bed was a little on the hard side for my taste, but that’s just a personal preference.
