“Mostly disappointing, prompting us to leave a day early and no offer to come and rectify the situation in our room and&#”
The place was close to the town centre by car, and the breakfast was very good—my photos show it. The room advertised as wheelchair accessible was actually on the ground level but in the basement, down a steep flight of stairs. My husband has a serious back problem with a blue badge, and I mostly use a walking stick for my congenital back and neck issue. The owner immediately blamed me for not specifying a room without stairs, even though the room I booked was shown as ground level. I feel this guest house would not suit anyone with mobility issues because the dining room is also in the basement, requiring stairs. On-site parking is limited to only 3 spots on the premises, with a few more diagonally across the street at the bus stop. Even though we didn't request parking assistance, Ada brought us a traffic cone to leave at our parking spot because we have a blue badge. Unfortunately the cone was constantly moved, forcing us to park further down the road and walk up a hill to the guest house bar one day when we finally found parking right outside the guest house. On other occasions the cone was removed and no one tried to help us with on-site parking except once, as I mentioned. I think it would have been better not to offer a service the guest house could not maintain. We left a night early because we simply couldn't cope with the issues mentioned, and the final straw was that after a long day, our room was not tidied: glasses and cups were not cleaned, the trash was not removed even though we had already packaged it, and all wet towels were still left in a heap on the floor where I had placed them earlier that morning. (I had to briefly return to our room to use the loo and change into cooler clothes.)
