1 large double bed
“Comfortable overnight stay.”
The place was clean and roomy, the bed was comfy, and the bathroom felt modern. It was handy to have a separate sitting area for TV. We appreciated the continental breakfast that was stored in the fridge—there was plenty. There’s a small private seating spot outside, but a faint oil smell from a nearby tank lingered. The location worked well for us as a stopover on the way to Scotland. Only a few minor things: as other reviews note, making the continental breakfast is a bit fiddly because there’s no counter or table surface. A small table and chairs in the bedroom would help, and the bathroom door doesn’t stay shut, which is easy to fix. We probably wouldn’t pick the White House for a longer stay because of the breakfast prep hassles.
“Just what we needed”
The host was very friendly and the hospitality went above and beyond—exactly the kind of pit stop we needed.
“Heel fijne plek!”
It was nice to have a living room and bedroom. Breakfast was already ready in the fridge. The bathroom door doesn’t close properly.
“Such a pleasure to stay here. Highly recommended.”
Everything was spot on. Gill and Dave were super welcoming and did everything they could to make our stay great. A meat and cheese platter, fresh fruit, and a range of goodies were all part of breakfast. Most 5‑star hotels don’t match the service and amenities we got at The White House. We can’t recommend it highly enough. We couldn’t find any faults.
“Lovely owners, super comfortable bed!”
The location was great, the owners communicated excellently, and the bed was super comfortable—our best sleep ever! The drink selection was excellent, including a bottle of wine, and the breakfast spread was superb. We’d have liked a small food prep or breakfast bar—maybe a pull‑out shelf? We had to wash up in the bathroom sink, but no cloth or tea towel was provided. The toilet seat felt a bit loose.
