The property sits about a 10‑minute walk from the train station and 20 minutes from the old town, making both easy to reach. We took the train to Matera, a lovely town about two hours away, and Alberobello with its Trulli houses is also worth a visit. The apartment was clean and met our needs, and the host communicated well. There are great restaurants in the old town. However, it’s marketed as a “bed and breakfast” but is really self‑catering, which might be misleading. The flat is on the second floor, so with a lot of heavy luggage it was a struggle to climb the stairs at first, though it worked out later.

I liked the good location near the centre, so walking to shops was easy. The accommodation was clean and smelled nice. It was a bit cold sometimes even with the AC on, and it’s more suitable for two people than four because it’s one room plus a bathroom. The host could have responded faster, but overall it was fine.
