Seagate, a 17th‑century inn in Appledore, crowns the Torridge estuary with historic charm and modern comforts. Individually furnished rooms offer flat‑screen TVs, hair dryers, tea/coffee facilities, and optional sea views or seating areas, split between the original building and a nearby new wing.

The hotel was excellent and the staff were great. We had no complaints about the Seagate; we enjoyed a wonderful stay at a charming hotel.

When we arrived, the pub looked very nice, perfectly positioned right on the sea front, parking was no problem, and the view from room 3 was lovely with a big bed. The room itself was very small, had no dressing table, and the bathroom was tiny. It was a shame we couldn't enjoy the view because the only chair was a window bench, so our backs were to the window.

The area is nice and meeting family nearby was very convenient. The ground‑floor room faced the road and was quite noisy; you could hear people walking past outside.
