Recently renovated with a £2.5 million makeover, it features a restaurant with reclaimed wooden panelling, French antique oak floors, and 2 real open fireplaces. Excellent service and food.

The food and service are excellent and the accommodation is comfortable, but everything else was lacking.

The bar and restaurant staff were friendly and helpful, the service was very good and the food tasty; the menus offered interesting options without overwhelming choice, and the smaller portions were welcome. Breakfast was excellent with a well-stocked buffet. However, the room’s cleanliness left something to be desired—dusty surfaces and a long black hair in the bath were found, and I had to call reception for cups to use the in-room drink-making facilities. There was also no fridge or safe.

Great welcome and staff. The room was upgraded for the dog on arrival, and he was very pleased! It was a great stopover with excellent food—nothing to dislike.
