“Great location for public transport and access to the hills. I would definitely stay again.”

The location is ideal for bus travel in the North Lakes; the bus from Keswick to Rheged and Penrith stops right outside. It’s a great base for exploring the northern fells and stays very quiet, unlike the middle of Keswick. My room was very comfortable with crisp, ironed sheets. There’s a car park at the back of the pub, and the inn—an old pub full of character—was lively on weekends with friendly staff. I couldn’t comment on breakfast because we only had cereals.

“Great place to stay with good food and good connection by public transport”

This is a hardworking village pub, obviously popular with locals and visitors alike. As a result some areas look a bit tired, but the main dining room is large and airy. Our room was spotlessly clean and in good order. The staff were friendly and service was top notch. Our evening meal was excellent, as was the full English Breakfast on offer. We thought it was great value for money. Although we came by car, there is a good regular bus service which stops outside the pub, so this could be very useful for those not wanting to drive. The car park isn't very big and the area could do with a good tidy up, but it was out of sight at the back of the pub

Good breakfast in a beautiful old and cozy village inn. No yoghurt or fruit juice was offered with the breakfast.
