The staff were extremely courteous and the food was tasty. The accommodation had a comforting, old‑Japan vibe, and a manager who speaks Korean made it easy for my parents and me to visit.

The staff were very professional yet warm and kind. They arranged private/family onsen times for us because of our queer identity, which made us feel comfortable and considerate of others. The traditional breakfast was varied and tasty. The room was roomy and cozy. The downstairs lounge offered free drinks, a manga bookshelf, and a TV. Comfortable yukatas were supplied.

I asked the hotel staff several questions and they answered happily. We had dinner and breakfast, both of which were very tasty. No complaints.

A good compromise for anyone wanting to try a ryokan without overspending. The room was huge, a bit bare but fitting the Japanese minimalism line. Tatami were spotless, futon comfortable. The room had everything needed for a comfortable stay. At the entrance yukatas were very cute and comfortable, and free drinks (both non‑alcoholic and beer with some time limits) were available. The property has a private onsen available at various times; we used it after dinner and it was a relief after a day visiting temples. The meals, both dinner and breakfast, were a highlight, served in a welcoming environment with excellent ingredients. The location is a bit off‑center from Kyoto’s main sights, but a few steps from the central station, which is a significant advantage.
